As a Product Owner in our Data Science practice, youll look to leverage a multitude of datasets to provide world-class data and intelligence to the institutional asset management industry. Youll be operating in a dynamic team environment alongside data scientists and data engineers, ensuring the success of data science & machine learning initiatives by taking ownership of deliverables, prioritizing, and coordinating work across your team. You will maintain open and constant communication amongst the team and business stakeholders across multiple departments regarding project progress and outcomes. Youll also dive deep into datasets leveraging your analytical and technical skills to create value and solve business challenges. You will constantly look to identify opportunities to enhance eVestment datasets.We want to hear about how youve successfully prioritized tasks and executed appropriate planning and time management strategies to achieve project objectives in the past. Youll have demonstrated experience effectively coordinating meetings to initiate, develop an agenda, facilitate, and communicate decisions so that all appropriate parties are aligned and kept up-to-date. Youll enjoy engaging with stakeholders across business units, especially Product Management, to identify opportunities to leverage or enhance data to drive value for eVestment clients. Youll serve as a data expert, providing triage on issues and educating clients and colleagues alike on how to understand data points and methodology.A degree of personal accountability, creativity, and latitude are required and encouraged. Your desire to build working knowledge of applicable financial terminology and industry best practices will help you to be successful in this role and in our company. You embrace technology (Excel and SQL are already a part of your skillset) and youll be eager to add additional tools to your repertoire. If you are most effective in a highly structured setting with well-defined, prescribed steps in sequential order, you are likely to feel frustrated with the highly agile and continuously changing priorities. This role isnt a pure data analysis or modeling role where youll spend most of your time in front of a computer screen working independently. While these are elements of the role, this role will be very interactive and visible. It isnt about developing product vision in a silo and pushing your personal vision to reality; if you dont love the discovery process or place a high priority on learning to love what stakeholders need, youll want to pass on us and find a better fit for your skills.RequirementsWhat we need:Knowledge And Abilities Required Superior verbal and written communications skills. Ability to manage and coordinate complex projects, communicating with stakeholders, and facilitate high levels of accountability within a team. Skilled with MS Excel and SQL with experience in data processing & analysis languages (e.g. R, Python) Proven ability in data visualization & storytelling Strong analytical & business skills to extract implicit, unstated, and unrecognized requirements. Understanding of all aspects of the Agile project lifecycle and Scrum framework. Cross-functional experience across multiple disciplines including business systems analysis, customer experience management, usability, and scrum project methods. Education And Experience Desired 3-5 years of experience with project management (e.g. as a Product Owner) preferred Experience operating in an agile team environment and ensuring success of the project by taking ownership of deliverables and performing agile project management, testing, support, training, or other tasks. Experience implementing Data Science and machine learning projects (e.g. regression, classification, natural language processing, etc.) Experience in software development, business analysis, and system lifecycle development is a plus.
