GIRD Systems is seeking an Embedded Software Engineer to join our dynamic and growing team. This person will implement DSP algorithms targeting embedded environments, such as ARM-based embedded Linux, for use in software-defined radios (SDR). Proficiency with C and C++ is a must, but our team of embedded software engineers often work in a variety of languages depending on the task at hand, so candidates with a demonstrated ability and interest in working in other languages, such as Python, are of particular interest.
The DSP algorithms we develop are specifically for wireless communications. In addition to the algorithm development, our embedded software engineers need to work with and develop multi-threaded applications, managing control and data paths to off-chip devices. The SDR platforms on which we work usually combine ARM and FPGA processors, so experience working with such devices is preferred. If you have experience developing in VHDL or Verilog for an FPGA, that is a big plus, but not at all a requirement.
