We are looking for a candidate who has a high level of PC and Mac troubleshooting knowledge at the desktop level and is ready to push into enterprise administration. You will be working directly in the infrastructure services team with experienced system, network and cloud administrators who will help guide and mentor your growth. The expectations are high, but the reward is that you will have the opportunity to learn and work closely in all areas of enterprise IT with very knowledgeable team members in a collaborative and team-oriented environment. This position will also provide secondary assistance to the Security Architect in various projects that may involve security analysis, planning, incident response, implementation, and documentation.

RESPONSIBILITIESProvide tier 3 support on escalated issues from User Support (Help Desk/Computer Technician) team.Assist in maintaining and updating the desktop infrastructure through centralized management consoles (SCCM and JAMF).Creating, update and testing applications and OS deployments that will go into the enterprise with SCCM and JAMFReport and manage compliance levels with OS and 3rd party patch management for the enterprise fleet.Assist in supporting and maintaining the virtualized desktop infrastructure (VDI) using VMWare Horizon.Assist in maintaining network and wireless infrastructure, including equipment troubleshooting, replacements, upgrades.Help in setup, maintenance, and monitoring of enterprise infrastructure, responding to issues or alerts as needed.Assist with software installation, maintenance, and upgrades with OS X, Windows Server, and Linux-based systems.Assist in maintaining infrastructure in various cloud platforms, such as Amazon AWS, Microsoft Azure, and other SaaS/PaaS/IaaS solutions.Responsible for maintaining and monitoring daily tasks within the enterprise backup infrastructure.Work with the hardware and software support vendors to perform ongoing performance tuning, hardware/software upgrades, and failure repair.Assist in user configuration requests pertaining to the VoIP infrastructure.Work with other ITS staff members to evaluate new systems and technologies to improve the IT services offered by the ITS department.Provide tier three Help Center support and problem resolution (systems and network issues).On-call shift rotations to monitor the universitys infrastructure and provide after-hours support for ITS User Support and other university users.Create and maintain documentation for various systems and services.Help create a culture of inclusion and innovation that facilitates teamwork, knowledge sharing, and collaboration.Assist in performing risk assessments and testing of data processing systems and procedures.Assist with security incident response and mitigation.Assist with troubleshooting and maintain security solutions (AV, IDS, SIEM), data encryption and other security measures.All other related duties as assigned.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or the equivalent 5 years of work experience in advance troubleshooting and management of PC and Mac desktops preferred.Has some experience with Windows Server and Linux OS is preferred.Experience using scripting/programming languages (such as PowerShell, bash, or Python) for system management tasks a plus.Strong work ethic that will be demonstrated by coming into work on time, organized in knowing your priorities, strong time management, problem-solving skills and willingness to tackle any project or task assigned.Certifications A+, Network +, Security +, VMWare (VCP) and Microsoft (MCSE) is desired.Ability to complete routine tasks independently and with little supervision.Ability to communicate and exercise important human relations skills in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with the PLNU community.
