The ideal candidate should be comfortable being directly involved with the design, development, testing, and operation of the solutions that will make up the cloud infrastructure. Once implemented, the candidate will typically be expected to provide some higher level production and technical support in the case of a serious outage. They will also provide comprehensive consultation to business unit and IT management and staff at the highest technical level. They will work closely with the CTO Organization to identify and specify complex business requirements and processes that drive the platform roadmap. Additionally, they will research and evaluate alternative solutions and make recommendations for changes that would enhance the platform.
FUNCTIONAL GROUP RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
Demonstrating expert knowledge in private, public and hybrid cloud architecture, networking, workload types, migration patterns and tools.
Hands-on experience with various enterprise applications and IT services, as well as software development, compliance and security, and IT operations disciplines.
Deep understanding of cloud design patterns, cloud operations and cloud cost models with hands-on ability to implement best practices or suggest improvements.
Ability to suggest competitive and innovative technical decisions, get client buy-in and deliver commitments.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Participates in project planning processes.
Identify functional and technical requirements.
Codes infrastructure deployment using the SDLC process.
* Develop tools and utilities to provide solutions that meet business requirements.
Integrates solutions with applications and platforms in the JPMC framework.
Involved with projects focused on multi-tenant, dedicated private, public, and multi-site solutions heavily focused on APIs.
Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to understand project objectives, gather automation requirements, design automated tests, troubleshoot issues, and implement scalable automation solutions.
Define and implement efficient end-to-end provisioning of automation solutions.
Remain current on IT trends pertaining to their area of practice (e.g., Public Cloud, Agile, DevOps, Microservices)
Ensures the adherence to standards, controls, policies and procedures.
Performs code reviews.
* Create processes and/or tools that enhance operational workflow and provide positive customer impact
MINIMUM SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITY REQUIREMENTS:
* Proficiency with at least one programming language such as Java, Nodejs
* Proficiency with at least one scripting language such as Python, Perl, PHP or Bash.
Experience automating / integrating a broad range of systems and services
Ability to translate complicated business requirements into multiple solution options and explain the pros/cons of various approaches
Knowledge of Object-Oriented Design Patterns and use cases for applying them
Hands on experience in developing and integrating with API's for cross function requirements.
Strong communication skills, ability to present technical ideas in business-friendly language.
Analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Excellent documentation and communication skills with an ability to clearly articulate complex IaaS / PaaS / SaaS concepts to people new to Cloud
Experience with the following:
Agile SDLC both Kanban and Scrum
Experience in the design and implementation of CI/CD pipeline processes; automated build and test systems (e.g. Jenkins / Spinnaker)
Hands on experience automating platforms including Terraform, Terraform Sentinel, AWS Cloud Formation, or similar.
Service Now CI/CMDB and service catalog integration
Public Cloud infrastructure solutions AWS EC2, S3, ELB, VPCs (or Azure equivalents)
Containerized application development specifically using Docker/Kubernetes
Experience with Pivotal Cloud Foundry
Knowledge of SQL and/or NoSQL database systems
Knowledge of Micro Services architecture
Knowledge of Big Data architecture
Networking concepts DNS, TCP/IP, Routing, Firewalls, etc.
Architectural artifact creation using Visio, Powerpoint, etc.
Knowledge of Chaos Engineering
