As the Performance Engineer Lead you will be responsible for stable and resilient operation of Consumer Banking applications by defining performance testing strategies, conducting tests, analyzing and identifying application's weak spots and recommending necessary improvements. The individual in this role must be passionate about App Stability and be able to coach Applications Owners as well as junior colleagues on importance of performance testing, its best practices and techniques. You will work closely with application teams to solve most challenging problems of getting applications hardened and be worthy of Chase production environment.
BS/BA degree or equivalent experience
Awareness of application, data, and infrastructure architecture disciplines
Advanced knowledge of architecture and design across all systems
Proficiency in multiple modern programming languages
Knowledge of industry-wide technology trends and best practices
Keen understanding of financial control and budget management
Ability to work in large, collaborative teams to achieve organizational goals
Passionate about building an innovative culture
This role requires a wide variety of strengths and capabilities, including:
Operational knowledge of modern CI/CD processes and how performance / resiliency testing fits into them
Experience with operating systems (Linux / UNIX, Windows) and runtime environments - VMs, containers, cloud.
Understanding of runtime environments and their KPIs (CPU, memory, storage, IO/ networking)
Familiarity with app-to-app connectivity concepts (DNS, load balancing, firewalls) and common protocols (TCP, HTTP, REST)
Ability to design effective tests and generate relevant reports
Passion for resiliency / negative testing and awareness of chaos engineering
Working knowledge of monitoring/APM tools: Splunk, Dynatrace, Grafana
Working knowledge of performance testing tools / suites like Blazemeter / JMeter, HP Loadrunnner, LoadUI, etc.
Working nowledge of scripting languages, like PYTHON / GROOVY / UNIX SHELL and ability to write testing scripts
Good understanding of programming optimization concepts like threading, polling, caching, memory mgmt and garbage collection
Passion for test automation and treating test artifacts as code;eExperience with GIT or other SCM tools
ability to code in Java is a big plus
experience with Jenkins/Maven/Gradle is a big plus
understanding of messaging technologies; JMS, MQ Series, Kafka
understanding of relational and non-sql databases (Oracle, DB2, Cassandra, SQL Server) and ability to write SQL code
Experience with app containers: WebSphere, Tomcat; Spring Boot.
