The Core Banking Mainframe Performance Engineering Team enables the organization to implement code and configuration changes in a production-like mainframe zSeries environment to gather and analyze performance metrics, providing confidence in release deployments, performance assurance, and application stability prior to any deployment to production.
The Performance Engineer (PE) must be able to gain a clear understanding of product architecture, application flows, business requirements, build test models, recommend tuning opportunities and test approach, and identify any risks associated with the changes. PE should have knowledge of performance testing best practices, experience in developing test plans, test scenarios, scope, and approach. Design and development of automated scripts based on the business use cases for the application is a plus. PE will also perform validation for fail-over/recovery scenario, measure any impact to response times/interruption, and identify processing ceilings to prepare for increased growth and peak opportunities.
This role requires a wide variety of strengths and capabilities, including:
* BS/BA degree or equivalent experience
* Advanced knowledge of application, data, and infrastructure architecture disciplines
* Understanding of architecture and design across all systems
* Knowledge of industry-wide technology trends and best practices
* Ability to work in large, collaborative teams to achieve organizational goals
* Passionate about building an innovative culture
* Demonstrated experience in Performance Engineering role - developing test plans, test scenarios, scope, and approach.
* Design and development of automated scripts required
* Experience in LoadRunner, DynaTrace, Splunk, MainView, and mainframe is a plus.
