The Systems Engineer is responsible for the full understanding of system processing and configuration elements in place to support BAU, Project and Risk platform initiatives.  This individual will act as Primary SME (Subject Matter Expert) on the Vector Exceptions, Vector Five Returns and ICapture systems and Secondary SME of the Alogent Payments Gateway system platforms.  This individual will be responsible for timely responses and remediation of platform issues and effective communications between business lines and technology resources engaged to support the platform.

This individual will lead incident calls directly related to their assigned system(s) and engage with Business Line Stakeholders, Vendors and Technology partners as necessary to remediate system issues within the System Level Agreement (SLA).  This individual will participate in quarterly DRET events and be available for system support during off-hours when necessary.  

This individual will perform system configurations, implement software releases, update system documentation and support testing as needed to support BAU, Project and Risk platform initiatives. This individual will support risk initiatives by raising awareness of potential risk, mitigating current risks and configuring platforms to prevent risk exposure.  This individual will be responsible for completing his/her initiatives based on prioritized JIRA stories associated with your systems.

Primary responsibilities include:

• Engage in troubleshooting, root cause and remediation efforts as it relates to your supported systems, inclusive of the application, database, system servers, transmissions, file shares, system processing ID's, etc…


• Perform BAU system activities such as coordination of server patching and validation; remediating system vulnerabilities, manage/unmanaged servers, system health monitoring, managing services and system maintenance schedules


• Collaborate with Technology and Vendor partners to perform system installs and configurations of software releases and hotfixes as necessary


• Participate in Disaster Recovery exercises and collaborate with technology partners to review, update and execute DRET system recovery steps of supported systems


• Adhere to the established lifecycle methodology, support standards and best practices, while engaged in Risk/Production/Project initiatives


• Adhere to Service Now policy as it pertains to Incidents, Maintenance Requests, Change Requests and Problem Management


• Create and maintain system documentation as necessary for maintenance and support execution efforts


• Act as Primary and/or Secondary SME of your assigned systems and engage in quarterly team system training sessions


• Provide 24/7 support as necessary for supported platforms

Qualifications

Required Skills/Experience:

• Self-motivated


• Ability to work within a team and individually as needed


• Must have the ability and aptitude to manage multiple applications


• Must have the ability to multitask, with a positive attitude and the desire to excel


• Must have the ability to lead, troubleshoot and communicate effectively during system outage calls while working collaboratively with other technology and vendor partners as necessary.


• Must be available for support during off hours and weekends when necessary


• 3+ years in an application support environment role supporting multiple systems


• 3 + years working knowledge of a Windows platform


• 1+ years in working with IIS and Application Pool configurations


• 2 + years of installing and configuring application components


• 2 + years working knowledge of T-SQL


• 2 + batch/shell scripting


• 1 + years working knowledge of file share permissions


• 1 + years working knowledge of LDAP/AD


• 1+ years working knowledge of GIS Sterling and/or NDM Connect Direct


• 1 + years working with Cron jobs or Autosys

Preferred Skills/Experience:

• Business process knowledge in one or more; Check Processing, Document or Item Image Capture, Item Exceptions, or Returns


• Experience in Web Services a plus


• Experience supporting AWS Cloud offerings a plus


• Experience in a Financial Services IT setting


• Knowledge of the System Development Life Cycle a plus


• Knowledge of Agile a plus

Education, Certifications and/or Other Professional Credentials:

• Bachelor’s Degree or related experience
