This role requires a wide variety of strengths and capabilities, including:
* BS/BA degree or equivalent experience
* Software development experience in one or more general-purpose programming languages: Python, Java, C, C++, Go
* Experience working with two or more from the following: web application development, database, unix/linux environments, distributed and parallel systems, information retrieval, networking, large scale software development, security software development
* Understanding or have experience with Agile and Lean philosophies
* Strong critical-thinking and problem-solving skills with clear communication
* Ability to collaborate with different roles to achieve common goals
JPMorgan Chase your role will be combination of software engineering and a mentor for teammates, who is trusted to automate the operational toiles in DNS, DHCP, IPAM .You would be responsible for monitoring, configuration management, orchestration, and systems development life cycle practices. Our Team:
Name services team is trusted to maintain JPMorgan Chase critical infrastructure services: DNS, DHCP, and IP address management solutions (DDI) as well as Network Time (NTP/PTP). In addition, we provide self-service applications written in Python to offer a DNS monitoring, fail-over solution and a data correlation tools. Our primary focus is on designing and maintaining highly available and resilient environments for our critical services. .
JP Morgan Chase is seeking a Python developer who will jump right into hands-on development.
Develop, implement and maintain tools for our engineering and operations teams
Build automated solutions for large scale deployments
Proactively communicate with other teams within the DDI team
Follow best practices and process to ensure technical quality and integrity remain high
Take ownership and responsibility over projects from beginning to end
Follow company guidelines and coding practices
Qualifications and Skills:
Have a University degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or a related field
Have strong hands on experience with Python, be able to create and maintain complex scripts
Hands on experience with RESTful Services, SOAP, XML, JSON
Have scripting experience with Perl, Bash or other shell scripting variations (nice to have)
Some Experience with Java (nice to have)
Have strong familiarity with Linux/Unix
Experience on Python Flask Framework with AngularJS
Understanding of code checking solutions like git, CVS, and Bit Bucket
Understand that a job is not finished until it's tested, documented and highly automated
Experience working on an Agile team using JIRA and confluence, as an end user/consumer
Knowledge and experience with IP management solutions is highly desired
Have experience with networking protocols, DNS, DHCP, NTP (nice to have)
Knowledge of BIND and ISC DHCP configurations and management
Possess strong problem solving, analytical, communication and collaboration skills
Ability to work on their own with a distributed team i.e. physically located in other regions
Highly motivated, curious, capable and a lifetime learner
Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders in business, and other groups in and out of the LOB
Lead sub-working groups, Strategic thinking and leadership skills
