Primary Responsibilities:
Work collaboratively within a sprint team and with the product owner, architecture, and engineering teams to design, develop, test, deploy, and support solutions focused on data delivery.
Contribute towards high quality technology solutions with a focus on software craftsmanship.
Ensure solutions meet security requirements, including handling of PCI Data Standards
Work with the Data Engineering and Infrastructure teams on data availability, performance, and capacity planning.
Drive data solutions across multiple geographical locations, meeting data governance, risk & controls, and standardization requirements
Agile team player who actively engages in communications, problem resolution, and effective delivery within and outside the team.
Problem solving and analytical analysis
Qualifications:
6+ years' experience with building large scale big data applications
In-depth understanding of inner workings of big data technologies like Hadoop, Kafka, Spark, MapReduce, Hive/Pig, Impala/Drill, Sagemaker, Athena, Glue, EMR, S3, Glacier storage
Extensive experience with non-relational (NoSQL) DBMS (such as HBase, MongoDb, Cassandra, Dynamo DB)
Hands on experience with Kafka (producers, consumers, topic partition, replication etc)
Experience in writing programs using python or Scala
Hands on experience with AWS components like (EMR, S3, DynamoDB, Lamdba, Workflow API, Step Functions, Kinesis Firehose ) in production environments
Experience with Java(8) , Reactive programming, Spring framework(spring boot)
Experience building streaming or batch processing data pipeline.
Experience with cloud (AWS) and other emerging technology solutions in enterprise data management.
Experience implementing customer data integration / master data management processes.
Experience with microservices /API development, management and have a solid understanding of distributed system concepts.
Experience working with automated build and continuous integration systems (CI/CD)
Possess a can-do, no-problem-too-big-or-too-small attitude.
A strong understanding of Agile development methodologies
BS/MS in computer science or a related field, or professional experience in data engineering and data management.

Having skills in the below areas is a major plus that will help the candidate integrate within the team and environment but is not a requirement.
* Experience with Data Science and Machine Learning
* Experience with data visualization tools: Hue, Kibana, Qlikview, Tableau
* Experience in next generation platforms such as cloud (AWS, Azure), PaaS, mobile
* Experience with Event Driven Architecture
* Experience developing software using continuous integration/deployment pipeline that includes vendor solutions
* Experience with resource management (Spark, Yarn queues, Impala pools)
* Experience with Splunk, Elastic Search
Previous exposure to financial services, credit cards or merchant analytics
Public cloud(AWS/Azure/Google) certification
Experience with Cloud migration strategy
