The Home Depot is seeking a Staff Systems Engineer in IT Endpoint Protection. The Staff Systems Engineer develops, maintains, and supports The Home Depot’s technical infrastructure that includes network, hardware, database, and system software components for a broad range of End Point security related tools and technologies, including but not limited to EDR (Endpoint Detection & Response), Agentless Device Inventory & Discovery and others. The Staff Systems Engineer, will be part of the Security Operations Center Systems team responsible for supporting the Armis service, partnering with Design teams to continuously enhance and mature the service through strategic initiatives. Staff Systems Engineers are expected to leverage tooling and custom applications to monitor and optimize performance. In addition, Staff Systems Engineers would be part of an On-Call rotation for supporting routine upgrades, application support as well as root cause and post-mortem analyses around security incidents and service interruptions. As a Staff Systems Engineer, you will be able to operate independently, though knowledge share as a mentor of junior team members to expand the team’s overall skillsets. Based on the Staff Engineers extensive experience they would be expected to provide process creation, leading initiatives and ensure best practices are followed for the service. This role typically reports to the Systems Engineer Manager or Staff Manager.
Required Qualifications
3-5 years of relevant work experience
Professional experience as a Security Engineer, Infrastructure Engineer or Network Engineer; familiarity with at least one other discipline, and interest in growing in the remaining disciplines
Hands-on and management experience specific endpoint security discovery tools such as Armis, ZingBox, Claroty, etc.
Experience monitoring the operational/performance status of Windows/Mac/Linux endpoints including configurations and troubleshooting.
Experience monitoring the operational/performance status of networks communications to/from endpoints as well as troubleshooting.
Experience with operating system command-line utilities as well as PowerShell, VBScript, Shell Scripting and or Python.
Experience working as part of a collaborative, cross-functional, modern Security engineering team.
Experience on delivering a service and providing recommendations on Strategy and process design for continuous enhancement and deliverability.
Preferred Qualification
Prior engineering experience in endpoint security solutions to include and not limited to (EDR) Endpoint Detection & Response, Device Discovery and Management, Vulnerability Management etc.
Hands-on and management experience specific endpoint security tools such as CrowdStrike and other like EDR services.
Experience with physical/virtual infrastructure, network, or security troubleshooting and remediation.
Experience installing and upgrading applications or databases and performing system maintenance.
Familiarity with system and environment analysis and design.
Familiarity with debuggers, runtime analysis, library systems, compiled programming, and software update tools.
Experience supporting a 24×7 retail operation.
