About the role:
SAP is seeking a Senior DevOps Linux Engineer to join HCM Cloud Platform Services Team. You will have an integral part in the operations of products and services into our 30 Global Production Data centers and ensuring superior service delivery to our customers. The person applying for this role is expected to have perform leadership activities, lead and Guide the teams which do production operations support. The Candidate would focus on the needs to develop, document, integrate, and implement new cloud technologies and custom solutions with a focus on performance monitoring. The person applying for this position is expected to have a good expertise in understanding Infrastructure as a code, automation and Orchestrion technologies. You must lead to troubleshoot technical issues related to all aspects of the infrastructure (Network, Storage, OS,F5, Apache web server, Java/Ruby applications, and database skills are a plus. Candidate must have an interest in automating repeatable processes and offer training and documentation to the team and other supporting departments. This individual will be expected to proactively analyze our environments (for risks to stability, performance, capacity and security), and provide recommendations to meet current and future growth. He / She must be able to work in a fast paced, high demanding environment, and be team oriented.
Responsibilities:
Support and maintain the SuccessFactors systems and infrastructure.
Troubleshoot and Perform Linux server administration and respond to incidents.
Respond to escalated support requests and provide expert advice and troubleshooting.
Automate operational activities, tasks and repeatable processes.
Develop standards and solutions that supports business needs.
Execute system level changes following the ITSM defined processes.
Securing servers and closes other security vulnerabilities in the systems.
Identify critical issues, prioritize, and respond to tickets to ensure SLA’s are met
Documents Root Cause Analysis for Problem tickets.
Lead projects working with the Global leads and team members.
Mentors and provide guidance to the L2 members.
Provide after-hours and weekend support on a rotational basis and as needed
Required Academic and Relevant Experience
B.E./B.Tech/MTech Computer Science, Information Systems or equivalent experience
5-8 years of related experience
5 years’ experience with Public Cloud implementations
Experience and understanding of infrastructure services
Experience with infrastructure security, reliability, and fault tolerance
System Administration: SLES, RHEL, Windows
Automation Tools: Terraform, Chef, Ansible, Powershell
Scripting: Python, Perl, and Bash scripting
Platform: VMware, Openstack, Azure, GCP
Containerization: Kubernetes, Docker
Version Control: Github
Repos: SUSE repo, YUM, Jfrog
Orchestration: Jenkins, Rundeck, Pipelines
Load Balancers: Nginx, F5, HA Proxy
Hardware: HP, Dell, Cisco UCS, Lenovo servers
Storage: NetApp, EMC Extreme IO
