Duties: Design and develop new and enhanced functionality in the instrument and Price Reference Data applications. Identify and drive initiatives for redesigning and refactoring applications to streamline design architecture and increase scalability with improved performance in order to provide strategic solutions to reference data consumers and operations. Work closely with business stakeholders to gather requirements, design architecture and model using Visio. Perform reviews, testing and deployment of application during the SDLC of applications. Assist Application Development manager with team allocation to manage project deliveries.
Minimum education and experience required: This position requires a Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field of study plus seven (7) years of experience in the job offered or seven (7) years of experience as an Application Developer or related occupation. The employer will alternatively accept a Master's degree plus five (5) years of experience.
Skills Required: This position requires five (5) years of experience with each of the following skills: Java; J2EE or JEE; Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC); Financial Instrument or Reference Data Pricing; Oracle; Sybase; Data modeling using Visio; High and low level designing; Perl and Shell programming; Unix; Linux; XML; Code review; and Coordinating and leading project deliveries.
