Work and contribute towards the engineering of Real-time Communication technologies in the Interactive Media Group (IMG) at Apple. The Real-time Communication team provides the networking and media frameworks for Group FaceTime, FaceTime, Phone Continuity, and WiFi Calling.
IMG provides the media and graphics foundation across all of Apple's innovative products, including Mac, iPod, Apple TV, iPhone, iPad, and Apple Watch. Developing cutting-edge software techniques, IMG takes the media experience to the next level.
We are looking for a passionate software quality engineer with a strong technical background and understanding of networking, video, and audio technologies. In this role, you will be responsible for developing and conducting Performance tests for FaceTime, Group FaceTime, AirPlay, Phone Continuity and WiFi Calling on iOS, OS X, and Apple Watch platforms.
You will develop, maintain test plans, and carry out the testing across a variety of network topologies and in various different environments to ensure the highest video and audio performance in FaceTime, Phone Continuity, and WiFi Calling before it is reaches our customers hands. Your focus will span a broad array of Real-time Communications test areas involving functional, performance, and automation development.
You will work very closely with the Real-time communications development and multi-functional teams to ensure quality is of the highest level. Creating & tracking high quality bug reports, triaging issues by closely working with developers, and reporting on project progress & risk analysis. Testing will be comprised of figuring out details about the complex product/feature, coming up with a testing matrix, putting the testing matrix into an executable test plan. Working with many different multi-functional teams, building links across team, finding holes in overall test strategy. In addition, part of your testing may also require you to execute testing manually with the end goal of automating that testing. Teamwork and automation will be key to this roles success. In addition to writing and maintaining a set of tests, you'll also be responsible for driving fixes of many other critical performance tests run by multi-functional technology teams.
