Patch, the leading digital platform for hyperlocal news and events, is looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join us in our mission of strengthening communities through local news, conversations, and connections.

Reporting to the VP of Engineering, the candidate will collaborate with other stakeholders including the Head of Revenue, Data Scientists, Product, and Business Development. The ideal candidate will be a highly motivated and passionate individual with experience in a multi-site, ad-driven environment who operates effectively in both independent and team collaboration settings. S/he will be responsible for the architecture and hands-on integration and development efforts required to create and maintain an enterprise-wide ad technology infrastructure across all Patch digital properties including web, AMP,  & mobile systems.

Most important:

• 5+ years of experience with ad system architecture and software development in an ad-driven media business.


• Deep understanding of the programmatic advertising industry, including Header Bidding, prebid.js, A9, DFP and GPT, OpenRTB protocol, IAB standards, viewability, and fraud prevention.


• Demonstrable thought leadership and innovation in the technologies that power modern ad solutions for web and mobile.


• Expertise in modern front end JavaScript frameworks (e.g. React, Vue.js), 


• You write well designed, testable, and efficient code.


• A team player who values a true collaborative environment.


• A passion and curiosity for creating and building things.

Nice to have:

• Experience with TypeScript.

• Experience with React Native.

• Certificates for DoubleClick, AdWords and Google Analytics and other relevant platforms.

• Experience with serverless paradigms.

• Familiarity with PHP and Drupal.
