The Merchant Services Data and Analytics team is driving the build out of Merchant Services next generation data platform which will power industry leading client reporting, direct data consumption by our clients and analytics.
The VP-Data Solutions Product Owner has end to end responsibility for defining and executing data & analytics focused programs - powered by big data analytics - for Merchant Services focused primarily on its core business of facilitating payment acceptance for clients. The position is ideal for an individual that can combine product management and end to end ownership experience, a deep understanding of next generation data and analytics environments and superior problem structuring skills.
The role is a mix of strategy consulting (defining the "what", problem solving, client interactions), product management (leading the development and roll out of data/analytics driven solutions) and hands on product ownership defining epics & stories ; The role requires excellent strategic thinking to engage with senior executives on defining the data and analytics roadmaps that drive business value and then running execution for the programs in close collaboration with Data Science, Development Operations and Big Data Infrastructure.
This position will report to a Product Solutions Director. Ideal for EM or Sr. Associate level candidates of top tier strategy consulting firms with very strong analytics and big data affinity and hands-on experience.

Principal Duties & Responsibilities:
Define the "what" - based on understanding on what adds business value to our merchant and Merchant Services as a business
Drive and own end to end progress - based on clear understanding of the "what", needs to make decisions and review output that lead to overall positive outcome
Manage technology team within an agile delivery framework
Align the firm - delivering a merchant solution requires collaborating across many cross-functional groups (e.g., analytics, sales, technology, data, compliance, legal); the solutions delivery manager needs to have a good understanding of all functions (with a spike in data) and create alignment by working across these functions
Develop strategy for utilization of external data sources to improve insights and analytical conclusions
Improve the data quality of current reporting to support the delivery of insights across all analytics platforms globally
Develop ways in which we can use our data assets for clients to improve their experience
Definition and execution of new business models / services based on data
Bachelor's Degree in the fields of engineering, computer science, statistics, mathematics
Product management experience in an analytics/information technology setting
Management consulting experience is a plus
7+ years of working in large and medium project teams, as a contributing member in self-directed roles.
4+ years' experience in the payments industry and/or technology-enabled industries
In-depth understanding of the payments value chain (merchants, brands, acquirers, networks, issuers) preferred
Proven experience leading teams in an advanced analytical environment preferred
Expertise in data and analytics platforms, data base administration and data warehouse design and associated technologies (e.g., APIs)
Understanding of application development process; prior programming experience preferred
Experience in the payments industry and/or technology-enabled industries
Experience in agile methodologies
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, ability to work across functions as well as with outside parties to ensure alignment and timely implementation of initiatives
Excellent problem structuring capabilities
Ability to build trust-based relationships
Proven strategic thinking and creative problem-solving skills with ability to translate strategy into tactical plans
