Our Eastern Territorial Headquarters has an opportunity for a Cloud Engineer.
This Cloud Engineer has responsibility for Azure, Microsoft 365 / Office365, virtual and physical servers, hardware appliances, and maintaining approved standards for business continuity, encompassing the hundreds of Salvation Army sites and customers within the Eastern Territory. The Cloud Engineer will research, evaluate, design, develop and test systems that support cloud implementation and integrate with Azure and other cloud services, applying principles and techniques of computer science, engineering, and mathematical analysis. The engineer is also expected to build, implement and improve the myriad systems in use within the Eastern Territory in a collaborative, team-oriented environment.
This position has the ability to work remotely.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Supporting and Managing a Microsoft Environment
Automating common tasks through scripting (PowerShell, Power Automate, Power BI, VB, Python, etc.)
Maintaining Linux-based server systems
Administer, configure, implement, and manage multiple Cloud-based solution technologies
Maintain systems performance through monitoring, analysis, and performance fine tuning
Make upgrade recommendations to improve enterprise network & application performance and operation. Work closely with PMO to create implementation plans for projects
Has primary responsibility for the Business Continuity plan of the NetOps / systems environment as well as creating and maintaining technical documentation; ensure plans and documentation are up to date at all times
Interface and assist IT personnel in resolving problems when directly or indirectly related to critical network resources
Performs other duties as required to meet the goals and objectives of the Information Technology Department
· B.A. degree preferred
· 5-7 years of related experience
· Practitioner of ITIL principles
· Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE), MS Azure Cloud, and other advanced IT certifications preferred
· Proven experience in managing multiple tasks, issues, and demands
· Embraces technology - has a passion for technical learning
· Demonstrable project management and risk management skills
· Strong organizational, written, verbal and presentational skills
· Strong analytical methodology and an exceptional aptitude in troubleshooting issues
· A proven self-starter and positive results-driven professional
