As a Data Architect you will work with Business, Architects and System Analysts to fully understand the business requirements and translate them into Conceptual, Logical and Physical models. Work with application teams and CDO (Chief Data Officer) to define the data domains and coarse grain data facts for our application portfolio per the FDM guidelines. Promote data modeling standardization, defines and drives adoption of the standards. Maintain, publish and promote usage of data dictionary and metadata about data models. Work with architecture group to understand the new processes and work with the application owners to ensure the they understand how to complete the data architecture deliverables for their applications.
Your responsibilities will include Data Modeling - Gather and Publish Data Dictionaries: Create and Maintain data models in ERwin. Capture data models from existing databases, and record descriptive information into Erwin. Identify business needs, organize and define data, create and maintain conceptual, logical and physical data models and maintain appropriate Version Control on data models. Participate in the de-normalization of the data model and ensuring that business rules which are impacted during de-normalization are implemented via an alternate mechanism (i.e. trigger, application code). Work with the Application Development and DBA team to create an appropriate Conceptual, Logical and Physical Data Model.
This role requires a wide variety of strengths and capabilities, including:
* BS/BA degree or equivalent experience
* 5+ years of experience in applying data management principles and industry standards to design, build and maintain complex data model in Transactional, ODS, Data Warehouse and Data Mart applications
* Data Governance and Management experience
* 3+ years of data architecture experience or equivalent
* Identify opportunities to reuse data and reduce redundancy in data across the enterprise
* Experience with Database Platforms / Languages: SQL, Oracle, Teradata, Hadoop, Cassandra and Hive
* Knowledge of ETL tools like Informatica and Data Stage
* Cloud knowledge preferred - AWS, GKP, and GAP
