The selected applicants will, under direction, be responsible for development of GIS applications; migration of legacy GIS applications from deprecated technology to current software and programming versions; maintenance (enhancements, bug fixes, operational support) of existing applications; and integration of GIS with other systems.
Responsibilities require the use of tact, discretion, and independent judgment and frequent interaction with the Client information technology users. Responsibilities include troubleshooting and attending to user issues in a timely manner under only minimal supervision. In addition to technical skills the position requires development of documentation and good communication skills. Successful performance of the work requires knowledge of information technology systems design and maintenance practices and procedures.
GIS DESKTOP DEVELOPER - Mainly working with ArcGIS for Desktop applications. The selected candidate will be: developing add-ins using C#, setting up automated data processing services; supporting end users; setting up report generation; and other desktop associated tasks. Mandatory qualifications include: application development experience with a .NET language. Desirable qualifications include: ESRI Desktop Developer Technical Certification; Python scripting; SQL queries; and/or experience in a municipal or utility environment.
EDUCATION/TRAINING: A Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in GIS, Computer Science; or other applicable major.
